DOW™Bynel™ Coextrudable Adhesive Resin
DOW™ Bynel™ adhesive resins are functionalized polymers that provide adhesion between incompatible polymers together using various chemistries and technologies. Bynel™ grades are based on PE, PP, EVA and EMA resin and have a broad range of grades including let downs & concentrates to choose from.
Bynel™ resins are formulated to provide and maintain the adhesion level critical to package integrity at every stage of manufacturing and help convertors optimize barrier, heat seal and other functions in multi-layer structures.
Bynel™ family of adhesives can also be used in primerless lamination processes in applications like woven 仏brie lamination and high speed extrusion lamination for bonding printed PET/OPP to various substrates.
Application for Bynel™ adhesives can be in:
- Packaging films - barrier films, sealable films
- Packaging sheet for thermoforming 一 transparent & opaque trays
- Bottles and containers - food (ketchup), agrochemical containers, cosmetic tubes
- Pipes, tubes and hoses - water distribution, automotive, cosmetic
Bynel™ adhesive resins use various functionality to provide adhesion:
- Acid functionality gives adhesion to aluminum foil, metallized films, paper, nylon, and ionomers
- Anhydride functionality gives adhesion for bonding EVOH and nylon
- EVA based adhesive polymer gives bonding to PVC, PVDC, PET, PP, polystyrene, and ionomers
- Acrylate polymers bond well to the same materials and to inks
Bynel™ can work in a range of converting process:
- Film coextrusion processes such as cast film, blown film, double bubble and coextrusion coating
- Thermal lamination of films
- Rigid extruded product such as cast sheet, blow molding, tubing and pipe
- Multilayer injection molding and injection stretch blow molding
